- In collaboration with the nursing and physician staff, the emergency technician assists in providing timely and appropriate patient-family centered care for all patients in the Emergency Department.

Primarily responsible for providing acute patient care in a safe and effective manner in Pre-Op/PACU from admission to discharge. Additional responsibilities include directing the unlicensed employee’s activity, synthesizing patient information, assessment of patients, planning of care/intervention, teaching of patients/family, implementation of treatment plan/MD orders, and documentation and evaluation.
Representative duties include:

Responsible for the procurement of surgical supplies, equipment, and services requested by AHMC - Anaheim Regional Medical Center department of Perioperative Services (AHMC- ARMC). Verifies that requisitions have proper administrative approvals. Places orders with suppliers which offer the most favorable prices consistent with quality, quantity, service, and delivery time, and maintains accurate inventory records for the Surgery Department under the supervision of the Business Systems Manager of Perioperative Services. Performs necessary follow-up between departments and vendors to accommodate the needs of AHMC- ARMC. Performs transactions within AHMC- ARMC’s policies and procedures.

JOB SUMMARY: The CLS assists in the operation of the hospital clinical laboratory by overseeing and performing routine and STAT tests in the lab Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Microbiology departments. CLS assumes responsibility for the accuracy of results and the appropriate documentation of patient, quality control, and maintenance data. The CLS consults with nursing and medical staff as needed. Monitors section functions and assists in the development and revision of policies and procedures.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent preferred.
- A valid and current Clinical Laboratory Technologist license. Issued by the State of California Department of Health Services.
- BCLS card (AHA) within 90 days hire.
- Be able to converse well in English because of physician, nurse, and patient contact.
- Have good manual dexterity.
- Work well under supervision and in times of stress.
The Insurance Verifier provides a timely and accurate insurance verification; obtaining current eligibility, benefit coverage and authorizations to provide the necessary data to ensure reimbursement in a timely manner. This position identifies reimbursement resources for patient care and maximizing the effort to capture it. Identifies patient responsibilities, insurance reimbursement and other 3rd party reimbursement sources. Working knowledge of contracts with the ability to interpret per diem rates, case rates, stop loss, resulting in timely and accurate reimbursement. Performs outpatient pre-registration function, maintains effective working relations with coworkers, case management, outside companies, and visitors using guest relation techniques while professionally representing the visions and values of WHMC-AHMC Inc. Works closely with the patient service representatives, reviewing their work for accuracy and assisting them in their duties as needed.
Under the supervision of the Case Management Director, performs a variety of administrative, staff support and clerical functions, which require a range of skills knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Assists with inquires, composes edits and proofreads correspondence and reports, and prepares a range of administrative documents. Special projects as assigned.
Performs phlebotomy functions and non-technical duties in areas including the hospital laboratory, outpatient and off-site services
- In collaboration with the Directors, Unit Supervisors and/or Director of Nursing, this position is responsible for staffing nursing areas. Effectively performs all tasks required to provide staffing that meets regulatory agency and hospital standards. Is also responsible for assuring that the bodies of deceased patients are legally and expediently released to the appropriate agency.

Performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room. Under the direction of a Registered or Licensed Vocational Nurse, provides basic nursing care and implements selected aspects of the patients nursing plan of care.

The Speech Pathologist will be directly involved in patient evaluation and treatment acting as an integral member of the rehabilitation team. Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with cognitive, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
He/she will also be involved in preceptorship for the student intern program and program development for speech pathology services throughout the hospital. Provide effective, efficient, and quality care for a geriatric and adult population. Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) is responsible for providing safe, quality patient care and teaching to patients and families. Under the general supervision of the case management director, the case manager RN acts as a patient advocate to hospital clients;
- Provides clerical support and services to meet specific needs of Med/Surg Acute 4th Fl unit. Participates in and coordinates telecommunications between nursing and all departments. Is responsible for preparing, compiling and maintaining patient records. Coordinates maintenance of office supplies and forms PAR levels and nurse’s station. Communicates effectively with all customers and assures accurate maintenance of a patient’s medical record. Answers call lights in a timely manner. Transcribes orders efficiently/accurately.

- Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist, performs the duties of a pharmacy technician while learning the duties and responsibilities of a pharmacist.

Performs Laboratory testing on patient and control samples. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This position is responsible for maintaining the physical environment of the nursing unit. The US supports the hospital mission and vision with emphasis on customer relations. The US utilizes knowledge of patient’s age, spiritual and cultural diversity into unit communication & organization. The US is a non-licensed position whose training & skills enables him/her to interpret basic cardiac rhythms, recognize & alert the RN to significant rhythm changes or common dysrhythmias. The position contributes to the provision of safety and quality care that result in positive outcomes in patient care.
