- Communicates emphatically, respectfully and effectively with mentally ill patients and their families.

- Confers with the interdisciplinary team plan of care and collaborates and communicates necessary information with the team.
- Facilitates and participates in group education sessions, huddles, departmental quality improvement projects, and mandatory educational sessions.
- Assists patients to and from wheelchairs and gurneys, and assists patients with ambulation. Transports patients to other areas of the hospital in wheelchair or gurneys while following the department safety policies..
- When assigned as a sitter, responsible for but not limited to protecting the patient(s) from harm and assisting in meeting their emotional and physical needs through one-to-one continuous observation. Provide on-going observation and basic patient care.
- Collects and documents vital signs; reports items out of range as necessary. Performs tasks of activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, other miscellaneous personal hygiene, eating, daily weights etc.).
- Intervenes and de-escalates patient physical confrontations or abusive verbal behavior using de-escalation techniques.
- Assists registered nurse in administering treatment and other nursing tasks as needed; promptly answers call lights promptly and administers to patient comfort and safety by adjusting beds, lights, bed rails, pillows, patients' clothing and bedside tables/equipment; observes and reports any deviation in patients' condition/status; keeps patient areas clean, safe and orderly.

Primary Function
Under the Accounting Manager, this position verifies, reconciles, analyzes and process account payables in an accurate and timely manner.
JOB SUMMARY: The transporter is responsible for bringing patients to and from the nursing unit to the unit or from the nursing unit to the ancillary department where procedure will be performed. The transporter is responsible for picking up requisitions, requests, Doctor's orders from patient care units and deliver to the designated ancillary (non-nursing) departments. The transporter will pick up non-stat medications from pharmacy, test results from file sorter located in clinical laboratory and distribute to the designated nursing units' contact person. The transporter will make hourly runs to the areas listed on the runner schedule. All the transporters and runners reporting to nursing administration will be cross trained for both duties.

The Registered Nurse will interview patients and significant others and complete a history documentation. Documents signs and symptoms that indicate actual and potential problems. Provides continuity of care by communicating the plan of care and diagnostic data, in accordance with the unit's guidelines. Involves family members and other health care team members in the development of the plan of care as appropriate. Sets priorities and gives nursing care based on the patient's needs. Qualifications: Current CA RN License, BLS, ACLS, PALS and proficiency in both written and oral English. One year acute care expense preferred. Graduate of approved nursing program preferred.
The CLS assists in the operation of the hospital clinical laboratory by overseeing and performing routine and STAT tests in the lab Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Microbiology departments. CLS assumes responsibility for the accuracy of results and the appropriate documentation of patient, quality control, and maintenance data. The CLS consults with nursing and medical staff as needed. Monitors section functions and assists in the development and revision of policies and procedures.

- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent preferred.
- A valid and current Clinical Laboratory Technologist license. Issued by the State of California Department of Health Services.

Laboratory technicians are non-professional personnel with training in areas of the clinical laboratory useful to the overall efficiency and smooth operation of the laboratory. These areas include: phlebotomy, preparation of send out tests, answering the telephone, and assisting in the chemistry, hematology, and microbiology areas of the laboratory. The purpose of the job description is to provide information on how this useful assistance can be given. In order to qualify for this position, one must be able to work independently all the requirements as described for a Laboratory Assistant. This person should be versatile in all aspect of the laboratory as well as a team player to assist in not only performing, but coordinating the duties and responsibilities of the Laboratory Assistant in order to relieve the Clinical Laboratory Scientist the responsibilities of the phlebotomy and processing area, which includes the send out and microbiology set-ups. This person must have an extensive computer and LIS capability to manage and troubleshoot any problems in the processing area as well as the billing aspect. This person needs to be able to demonstrate proficiency in assisting and gaining the confidence of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform the designated automated instruments.

- High school education or its equivalent experience (An AA or Bachelor's degree is preferred.)
- Two years of experience as a phlebotomist.
- Certified for venipuncture and skin puncture CPT.

- Minimum of four years of experience in a clinical laboratory with at least two years of experience as a Laboratory Technician a lead laboratory assistant, and or a Lab Assistant Supervisor, or show equivalent experience.
- Have at least two years of LIS experience and computer knowledge, or show proficiency.

- Have some experience with the operation of any automated chemistry, hematology, or microbiology experience

Performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room. Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned. Independently scrubs on all surgical procedures. Demonstrates ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed. Applies basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for optimum surgical patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and practice of patient care concepts. Applies the principles of asepsis during surgical procedures.
Performs technical and clerical duties of an MRI technologist in Imaging Services. Ability to work with the MRI Safety practices. Coordinate MRI section to assure optimal quality services.
