Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is a 101 bed acute care community hospital. Monterey Park Hospital has provided our community with advanced medical and culturally sensitive healthcare services for over 40 years. Monterey Park Hospital is recruiting for a LVN for our Telemetry Department. This is a full time, 12 hour, day shift position. This position reports to the Director of Telemetry.
Primary Function
The Director of Quality collaborates with the Patient Experience Officer, each hospital leadership team and staff to provide strategic improvement plans with a focus on improved operations for ancillary areas. The Director of Quality is responsible for providing expertise, leadership, modeling and support in accordance with AHMC initiatives designed to improve performance and achieve sustainable high quality outcomes and results for ancillary areas.
Primarily responsible for providing acute patient care in a safe and effective manner in Pre-Op/PACU from admission to discharge. Additional responsibilities include directing the unlicensed employee’s activity, synthesizing patient information, assessment of patients, planning of care/intervention, teaching of patients/family, implementation of treatment plan/MD orders, and documentation and evaluation.
Representative duties include:
Collaboration with health care team, patient and family to coordinate patient care delivery.
Participation in ongoing feedback related to self, individual, unit and organizational performance improvement.
Integration of patient care standards and protocols into personal practice and assisting other RN’s.
Completion of patient care assignments and documentation, asking for and offering assistance as appropriate and delegating as appropriate.
Radiology Attendant is responsible for establishing good rapport with the patients, public and other hospital personnel and to perform clerical duties. The Attendant also transports hospital patients to and from the Radiology Department.
The RN Charge Nurse will be responsible for coordinating the nursing care on their shift. The Charge Nurse will be responsible for overseeing the unit. Focus will be on providing a safe, effective environment for patients and staff through increased communication and customer service.
The Intern Pharmacist, under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, participates in the processing of patient medication orders to facilitate the prompt and accurate delivery of medications to patients. The Intern Pharmacist has primary responsibility in drug distribution, maintaining appropriate patient records and charges, purchasing, and inventory control.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Currently enrolled in or graduated from an accredited School of Pharmacy. Current State of California Intern Pharmacist License.
- One year of acute care hospital experience (preferred)
- Current BCLS Card (AHA) and maintain current.
Completes initial nutrition assessment to identify those patients at nutrition risk in the acute setting and skilled nursing facility. Food preferences are obtained for those residents in the skilled nursing facility within the first 24 hours of admit. Maintains confidentiality. Conducts work according to standards of practice as appropriate for patients of any age, including the adult, child, adolescent, geriatric patients and the terminally ill. Follows policy and procedures for diet office operations.
Under the direction of the Food Service Director, Manager and Supervisors, the Food Service Aide performs the various duties and functions in the therapeutic kitchen, cafeteria and in cash register operations as well as other related duties. Catering wait service is performed as needed.
Functions as a leader in medical nutrition therapy, promoting wellness through optimal nutrition. Collaborates with physicians, nurses and other ancillary staff to provide optimal nutrition support. Functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team screening and/or assessing newly admitted patients/residents to identify those at nutrition risk. Completes comprehensive medical nutrition therapy assessment for those patients identified at nutrition risk. Provides therapeutic diet education based on patient needs and literacy level. Develops and implements an appropriate plan of care. Develops through orientation and continuing education, and according to the American Dietetic Association standards of practice, knowledge and skills as appropriate for working with patients of any age, including the child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, and the terminally ill. Regularly provides quality service to customers following established protocols. Maintains confidentiality. Actively participates in the growth and development of the Clinical Dietitian group.
TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum two years of experience supporting end-user networks in a Microsoft environment.
- Minimum two years of experience supporting a LAN/WAN environment.
- Strong knowledge in the area of PC hardware and components, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals that connect to these devices.
- Thorough knowledge of computer fundamentals and installation requirements, including software operations and use of Microsoft Office, Adobe, patch management, anti-virus, and other desktop technology.
- Experience with service management and asset management systems.
- Experience developing and deploying PC images and application packages.
- Experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems, Active Directory, Exchange or Office 365, DNS, DHCP, and encryption and certificates.
- Working knowledge of internet protocols, VPN, firewall, wireless infrastructure, Ethernet, and other data communications methods.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written documentation skills.
- Promote excellence through continuous process improvement and the creative pursuit of new ideas, partnerships, and systems.
- Must have the ability to speak, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment.

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing care for patients the medical surgical services based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves as the Resource nurse role when oriented and as directed. Supports the organization vision and mission. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing certificate. Licensure in the state of California as a Registered Nurse (RN). Proficient in oral and written communication skills. Ability to practice leadership, interpersonal skills, communication skills, teamwork, quality improvement and professionalism.
Current California RN license
BCLS, ACLS (AHA), Basic Dysrhythmia certificate upon hire.
Proficiency in both written and oral English
Denials Manager appeals all denials using InterQual, interprets denials by third party payers and crafts through appeals to justify medical necessity. Works with all revenue cycle team and all types of payers to resolve denials, maximize accurate and timely reimbursement and preform reimbursement recovery and retention services.
The Radiology Assistant is responsible for transporting patients and assisting Radiologists in preparing and performing procedures. Ensures quality patient care.
