Under the direction of the Rehab Director, the SLP evaluates plans, identifies, assesses, interprets, diagnoses, and administers medically prescribed speech therapy treatment to patients.  Selects and executes procedures for screening and assessment of speech, language, oral pharyngeal function, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders; formulates, carries out, and documents plan of care throughout the continuum of care in the inpatient and outpatient setting; and encompasses pediatric through geriatric populations. The SLP educates patients, family/caregivers and staff regarding impairments of speech, language, swallowing, and cognition disorders.  

Manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and Hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse will provide care that includes timely triage, physical assessment, treatment, reassessment, discharge planning, and health education to the hospitalized patient. The RN is responsible for planning and coordination of care across the continuum. This planning and coordination includes meeting and exceeding compliance with core measures, contributes to reduction in LOS, active participation with all aspects of quality, safety and performance improvement activities, collaboration with all the members of the multidisciplinary team in providing outstanding customer service to patients, family members, physicians and the public. Meets and exceeds the Department of Health Service (DHS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory requirements. The Registered Nurse will support the department initiative and provide quality patient care.

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist this position will perform preparation packaging distribution, billing and inventory management of medication.

Technician also scrubs for C-Sections and deliveries as well as maintaining skills in computer order entry. Anticipates and orders required supplies and equipment in Labor and Delivery. Stocks all Labor rooms and LDRs in advance.

This position is directly responsible for the delivery of high quality individualized basic nursing care. The Nursing Assistant supports the hospital mission and vision.  The Nurse Assistant utilizes knowledge of patient’s age, developmental status, spiritual and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care.  The position contributes to the provision of safety and quality nursing care that results in positive outcomes in patient care.  EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING   - Completion of Nursing Assistant Course, Current certification for Nurse Aide (C.N.A.). - High School Graduate or equivalent experience preferred - Six months acute hospital experience preferred. - Current BCLS card (AHA) .
